Thanks for stopping by! I'm Chris Michaelis, an independent consultant based in northern Idaho. I'm primarily a web developer and GIS enthusiast - also a linux enthusiast and general computer geek. I'm the proud owner of many animals including 3 cats and a dog named Lily (featured below). I'm a huge fan of science fiction from the 1940-1960 time period, particularly Asimov. I am happily married and my wife is pursuing an education in veterinary medicine at WSU. I'm also a diabetic (type 1) and am interested in diabetes topics including diet, Animas insulin pumps, blood glucose tracking, carb/GI counting and similar topics. I enjoy studying languages, particularly Russian, and general linguistics (comparative and applied). 

As a consultant I perform a variety of services including GIS web development, general web development, Windows and cross-platform application development, and Linux system administration.
