This is a tool for converting AutoCad DXF (Data eXchange Format) files into ESRI Shapefiles, the format used by ArcMap and MapWindow. This software is open source under the GPL and was created using two other open-source tools: dxflib and MapWinGIS, without which this would have been much more difficult to create.

Downloads

• Complete Installation Package for the standalone converter application. This includes everything you need as an end user wanting to convert DXF to SHP.
  
  
• MapWindow Plugin - useful if you already have MapWindow and wish to use this tool as a plugin inside of MapWindow or to distribute it with a custom MapWindow application.
  
  
• Visual C++ Dependencies of the conversion library and software. If you don't use a packaged installer above, you may get an error saying "Unable to load DLL". These files will repair this (extract them into your Windows\System32 directory).
  
  
• Source Code. This includes a standalone C++ DLL for use from other software, a C# plugin for MapWindow, and C# code for the standalone windows application.
